Creating opportunity in Warwickshire
Creating Opportunity - The Journey so far
Creating Opportunity is the bringing together of Warwickshire’s Countywide Approach to Levelling Up and Community Powered Warwickshire. It is the culmination of several Council initiatives that represents our overall ambition for the county. As such, we are pleased to present the Journey so far, setting into context what Creating Opportunity actually means, accounting for the projects and initiatives delivered in the last 18 months, what is currently being done, and where things are going. We have a commitment to deliver the following priorities:
- Improve educational attainment and adult skills.
- Develop an inclusive, high performing economy.
- Improve healthy life expectancy at birth across the county.
- Focus on town centre regeneration.
- Improve access to gigabit-capable broadband and 4G coverage and 5G connectivity.
- Deliver against the government target to reduce homicide, serious violence and neighbourhood crime levels.
- Improve access to affordable housing.
- Improve transport connectivity.
In short, by delivering on these commitments, we are enabled to achieve our core priorities, where Warwickshire may boast a thriving economy, be a County where people can live safe, healthy, happy and independent lives, and be a County with a sustainable future.
