Crafty Lunch Club – Alcester Town Council

Alcester Town Council were beneficiaries of a £40,000 sum to sustain weekly meetings of the Crafty Lunch Club, where adults with learning difficulties or disabilities and/or physical disabilities have a safe and supportive meeting place. Participants get the chance to socialise, be creative and exercise whilst Carers get the chance to meet other carers and have respite.

Brunswick Healthy Living Centre

Brunswick HUB received a £36,000 grant to improve the existing foodbank and holistic advice service. The additional staff capacity has enabled those accessing the foodbank to receive quick and effective referrals to improve their situations for the longer term. 

Saints Nuneaton

To expand and develop the provision at Saints Nuneaton, Together for Change Coventry and Warwickshire were awarded a £49,793 grant. Saints Nuneaton host activities to support disadvantages people, from mums with babies, to children’s breakfast and after-school programmes, to families with mental health issues, to IT literacy classes for older residents. The project was completed in June 2023.

Young people first

With their vision of ‘No young person limited by disadvantage’ £41,000 funding was provided to Young People First (Midlands) to support young people aged 8-18 in Brunswick, Leamington Spa. Funding has been used to deliver holiday activities, signposting and practical support to vulnerable people and their families and carers who may be at risk or struggling. 

Newton Centre

For essential repairs and refurbishment of the Newton Centre to make the building fitter, safer and more sustainable for the future, £93,000 was awarded. This benefits the 1,000 weekly visitors accessing the 20 regular activities ranging from IT classes and social groups to dancing and life skill workshops that take place and hosts NHS blood clinics and eye screening services.
